Gelungene Generalprobe zum Weltcup-Auftakt: Blaza Klemencic und Sabrina Enaux vom FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC World Cup Team überzeugen mit starker Leistung in Münsingen und lassen die Weltranglisten-Erste Osl und Europameisterin Leumann hinter sich

Die Damen des FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC World Cup Teams sind eine Woche vor dem Weltcup-Auftakt in Südafrika in glänzender Form. Beim internationalen Bundesligarennen in Münsingen am 17. April musste sich Klemencic zwar im Schlussspurt geschlagen geben und sich mit Platz 4 begnügen, aber die Slowenin prägte das Rennen in der vierköpfigen Spitzengruppe entscheidend mit und sorgte von Beginn an für ein enorm hohes Tempo an der Spitze des Feldes. Früh setzte sich Klemencic zusammen mit Olympiasiegerin Spitz und zwei weiteren Fahrerinnen vom Feld ab und legte eine Tempo vor, dem weder die Weltranglisten-Erste Lisi Osl noch die Europameisterin Katrin Leumann folgen konnten. Doch der Einsatz sollte am Ende nicht belohnt werden: „Bei vier Fahrern an der Spitze ist klar, dass eine am Ende leer ausgeht. Das gerade ich das sein musste, ist natürlich ärgerlich, aber ich habe starke Fahrerinnen hinter mir gelassen und kann den undankbaren vierten Platz verschmerzen.“, sagte Klemencic nach dem Rennen. Münsingen hat gezeigt, dass Klemencic mehr denn je ein fester Bestandteil der Weltspitze ist. Wer Rennen gewinnen will, muss Klemencic erst einmal schlagen!

Auf Rang 5 folgte ihre Teamkollegen Sabrina Enaux, die in Münsingen zu Hochform auflief. Enaux konnte das Tempo der Spitzengruppe nicht ganz mitgehen, verteidigte ihre Position als erste Verfolgerin jedoch im Ziel souverän mit einer Minute Rückstand auf die Spitze. Hinter ihr kamen die Weltranglisten-Erste Lisi Osl und Europameisterin Katrin Leumann ins Ziel.

Litscher und Markt mussten Start absagen, Simon Scheiber auf Rang 16 U23-Vizeweltmeister Thomas Litscher und Sunshine Cup Sieger Charly Markt waren in Münsingen nicht am Start. „Beide haben sich eine kleine Erkältung eingefangen und aus Vorsicht haben wir entschieden, auf einen Start in Münsingen zu verzichten, schließlich steht in einer Woche der Weltcup-Auftakt an. Beide sind am Montag mit dem Team nach Südafrika geflogen und sind fit für den heißen Auftakt!“, erklärt Sportchef Jörg Scheiderbauer. Die verpasste Generalprobe ist für beide kaum ein Nachteil: „Schon bei den ersten Rennen in Zypern war das Material von FELT und X-BIONIC perfekt, so dass wir nicht wie andere Teams auf jeden Streckenmeter angewiesen sind. Wir sind bereit für den Start!“

So lag es in Münsingen an dem jungen Simon Scheiber, die Flaggen des FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC Teams hoch zu halten. Und das gelang ihm! Mit einer guten Leistung in einem extrem starken Fahrerfeld fuhr Scheiber am Ende auf Platz 16.

Great last race before the World Cup:  Blaza Klemencic and Sabrina Enaux from the FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC World Cup Team showed their good condition in Münsingen and beat the worlds number one Lisi Osl and European Champion Katrin Leumann

The Girls of the FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC World Cup Team show their good condition one week before the UCI World Cup season kicks off in South Africa. The international Bundesliga-Race in Münsingen took place on 17th of April. The whole race, Blaza Klemencic was in the leading group with Olympic winner Sabine Spitz, keeping the speed up high and leading the field through the course. Four girls dominated the scene and Blaza Klemencic was one of them, but in the end, her strong ride was not rewarded: “Four girls in front means that one of them will go away empty-handed in the end and I’m little bit sad that I was the one. But there is no time to wonder. Next time, it won’t be me and next time is the World Cup in South Africa! I beat Lisi Osl and Katrin Leumann – two very strong riders and so I get over the 4th place”, Klemencic said right after the race. Münsingen showed that Klemencic is an inherent part of the world’s best riders and that it’s only a matter of time the FELT ÖLTZTAL X-BIONIC rider steps up the World Cup podium to celebrate her first big win!

Right behind Klemencic, her team-mate Sabrina Enaux made the best race of the young season in Münsingen and finished 5th overall. Enaux was the first one to follow the leading group but could not reach them in the end. But the passionate chase from Enaux was the key to beat the world’s number one Lisi Osl and European Champion Leumann.

Litscher and Markt had to cancel the race due to a cold, Simon Scheiber finishes 16th
U23 silver medallist Thomas Litscher and Sunshine Cup winner Charly Markt had to cancel the race in Münsingen. “Both had a cold last week and we decided to cancel the race as a measure of precaution. The World Cup in South Africa is only one week ahead. Litscher and Markt fly to South Africa on Monday with the rest of the team and both will be fit an healthy for the big showdown in South Africa”, explained Jörg Scheiderbauer and said, that missing the last test is no handicap at all: “Our Material from FELT and X-BIONIC worked from the very beginning perfectly and we don’t need – like some other teams – every single race meter to find the perfect set up. We are ready, our bikes are and the riders are.”

With Litscher and Markt missing, the young Simon Scheiber was the only rider from the FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC Team in the Men’s Elite race. And he really did a good job! With a strong ride, he finished in 16th position.
