5, 10, 13: FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC Fahrer stürmen bei der Europameisterschaft die Top15, Morath erfüllt Olympianorm

Blaza Klemencic, Adelheid Morath und Charly Markt – drei FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC Fahrer rasen in die Top 15 bei der Europameisterschaft und runden den großartigen Teamauftritt bei der EM in Dohnany ab.

Moraths einsames Rennen zur Olympianorm
Adelheid Morath hat sich frühzeitig die Qualifikation für die Olympischen Spiele in London gesichert. Mit ihrem zehnten Platz bei der EM im slowakischen Dohnany hat die Freiburgerin die zweite Hälfte der Norm eingefahren. Lange war es für Morath ein einsames Rennen. Nach großartigem Start fuhr Morath bis auf Rang 14 vor. Ohne weitere Fahrerinnen an ihrer Seite war die Orientierung nach vorne schwierig, doch Morath fand das richtige Tempo und drehte in der Schlussphase auf, obwohl ihr Magen ihr zu schaffen machte. Mit der drittschnellsten Rundezeit im Finale machte Morath Rang 10 und die Norm klar. „Auf den ersten drei Runden konnte ich nicht maximal belasten, erst in danach wurde es besser und mit dem richtigen Rhythmus habe ich mich Stück für Stück rangekämpft. Mein Ziel waren die Top 10. Ich bin sehr glücklich, die Norm für Olympia nun in der Tasche zu haben! Das nimmt mir den Druck“, sagte Morath im Ziel.

Klemencic verpasst Medaille knapp
Lange war Klemencic zusammen mit der Weltmeisterin Maja Wloszczowska in der Verfolgung der Führenden Norwegerin Gunn-Rita Dahle-Flesjaa.  Doch Runde 5 wurde der Slowenin zum Verhängnis und beendete die aufkeimenden Medaillenträume. Ein hervorragendes Rennen der Slowenin wurde am Ende mit Rang 5 belohnt.

Charly Markt wieder in den Top 15
Das Rennen der Männer war spannend bis zum Schluss. Vorne machten Absalon, Kulhavy und Vogel den Sieg unter sich aus. In einer Gruppe von 7 Fahrern ging Markt auf die letzte Runde. Ein Showdown, wie er spannender nicht hätte sein können. Wechselnde Positionen und ausgefahrene Ellenbogen bestimmten die Gruppe, in der Markt am Ende Rang 13 sicherte und sich einmal mehr unter den Top 15 platzierte.

Blaza Klemencic, Adelheid Morath, Charly Markt – three FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONCI riders storm into the top 15 at the European Championships and round up the great weekend for the team.

Moraths lonely race ends with Olympic qualification standard
Adelheid Morath secured the Olympic qualification standard one year before the Games. With her 10th rank at the European Champs in Dohnany (SVK), she entered the Top10 for the second time in a row.
After a great start, Morath was in 14th position. Without any help from her rivals, she rode a lonely race against the clock and herself and found the right rhythm. With the 3rd fastest lap of all riders in the end, she entered the top 10 although she had problems with her stomach through the race. “First half of the race was hard and I could not go full speed. I deeply wanted to reach the top 10 and I’m so happy that I made the Olympic qualification standard. That takes away the pressure!”

Klemencic barely misses medal in 5th position
For most of the race, Blaza Klemencic – together with world champion Maja Wloszczowska – chased the leading Gunn-Rita Dahle-Flesjaa. But in the fifth lap, the Slovenian had to burry all dreams of a medal, but her great race was rewarded with the fifth position!

Charly Markt top 15 again
The men’s race was exciting till the end. Absalon, Kulhavy and Vogel sorted it out among themselves in the leading group. Together with 7 riders, Markt entered the last lap and faced hard fights in every single turn. Visibly marked, he secured the 13th position and entered the top 15 once again!
