Sattel verloren, Bronze gewonnen: Zweite Medaille für Litscher bei der EM

Ohne Sattel aber mit seiner zweiten Medaille kam Thomas Litscher ins Ziel des U23 Europameisterschaftsrennens im slowakischen Dohnany.

Lange auf Goldkurs

Bis zur vierten Runde lag der junge Schweizer vom FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC Team an der Spitze des Feldes. Gemeinsam mit dem Italiener Kerschbaumer beherrschte er das Rennen nach Belieben. Litscher wurde seiner Favoritenrolle voll gerecht, das Duell zwischen ihm Kerschbaumer war voll entbrannt. Doch in Runde fünf kam das Pech. Litschers Sattel löste sich vom Rad und er verlor Sekunde um Sekunde. Im Stehen fuhr Litscher weiter, rettete die Bronzemedaille für sich, sein Land und sein Team.

Enttäuschung und Freude
Im Ziel ein enttäuschter Litscher, ohne Sattel aber mit Medaille. Nach Silber in der Teamstaffel und Bronze im heutigen U23 Rennen nimmt er zwei Medaillen mit nach Hause. Litscher fuhr eine großartige EM. Doch am Ende fehlte das nötige Glück. Dennoch kann udn wird er junge Fahrer stolz auf sich und seine großartige Leistung sein.

Große Rennen stehen an
Die EM ist erst der Auftakt der entscheidenden Saisonphase. Mit den Weltcups in Tschechien und Italien und der anschließenden Weltmeisterschaft hat Litscher drei große Rennen vor sich.
Und dann ist sicher: Litscher wird mit Sattel ins Ziel kommen. Und dann ist alles möglich!


Lost the saddle, but won the bronze medal: Litscher wins second medal at the European Championships

Thomas Litscher crossed the finish line without his saddle but won his second medal at the European Champs in Dohnany (Svk).

Looked like gold for a long time
Until the fourth round, the young Swiss rider from the FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC Team was in leading position. Together with Italian Kerschbaumer, he dominated the race and confirmed his reputation once again. The expected duel between him and Kerschbaumer flared up, but in the fifth round Litscher was dogged by bad luck. He lost the saddle and lots of time! Without his saddle, he could not race the way it should be, but he saved the bronze medal for him, his country and his team.

Disappointment and Happiness
Directly after the finish line, big disappointment was written in Litschers face. But after the silver medal in the team relay and today bronze medal, the European Champs were more than successful for the young man. In the end he didn’t have the luck. In the end, Litscher can and will be proud of his great performance.

Great races to come
The European Champs are just the beginning of the mist important part of the season. With the World Cups in the Czech Republic and Italy and finally the World Championships, Litscher is facing the most important weeks of his young career.
It’s clear: Litscher will come to the finish line with a saddle on his bike and that mean, everything is possible!
