Litscher muss bei Kulhavy-Show aufgeben, Markt auf Rang 20 (German/Englisch)

Litscher führte das Feld in die erste Kurve, lag nach der Startloop auf einem Podiumsplatz, doch am Ende blieb im Nichts. Thomas Litscher musste das Weltcup Rennen in Nove Mesto vorzeitig beenden. Ein Defekt in der dritten Runde warf ihn weit zurück.  Kurz vor Schluss musste der junge Schweizer ganz aussteigen und konnte nur zusehen, wie Jaroslav Kulhavy seinen Heimweltcup souverän gewann und sich den Weltcup Gesamtsieg vorzeitig sicherte.

Besser erging es Litschers FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC Teamkollegen Charly Markt, der mit Rang 20 an sein gutes Ergebnis bei der EM in der Woche zuvor anknüpfte.

Ebenfalls erfreulich das Abschneiden von Simon Scheiber. Das Nachwuchstalent kam auf Rang 60 ins Ziel und feiert damit das beste Elite World Cup Ergebnis seiner Karriere.

Die Damen hatten wenig Glück
„Ich will den heutigen Tag einfach schnell abhaken“ kommentierte Adelheid Morath das Rennen. Mit Rang 30 war Morath alles andere als zufrieden. Nach harten Trainingseinheiten diese Woche hatte Morath „keine Power in den Beinen“.  Etwas besser lief es für Blaza Klemencic. Die Slowenin wurde vor dem Rennen erstmals unter den Top 10 der Weltrangliste geführt, konnte mit Platz 16 jedoch nicht ganz an den hervorragenden fünften Platz bei der EM letzte Woche anknüpfen. Auch Sabrina Enaux blieb mit Rang 21 unter ihren Möglichkeiten.

Litscher did not finish at Kulhavy show in Nove Mesto, Markt 20th

Litscher had the best start, lead the field into the first turn and was in reach of the podium after the first lap but in the end, there was nothing left. Thomas Litscher had to quit the race due to technical problems and had to watch Jaroslav Kulhavy win the race from the outside. The Czech winner also secured the overall World Cup win at his home race in Nove Mesto.

Charly Markt, Litscher team mate at the FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC team, had more luck this day. With his 20th position, he could further his good results from last weeks European Championships.

Also a very good race had the young and talented Simon Scheiber who crossed the finish line in 60th position and overtook more than 30 riders on the way to his best Elite World Cup result ever.


The women had a bad day
“I just want to quickly shrug off that race” said Adelheid Morath after the race. She came in 30th and everybody could see how unhappy she was. After hard training throughout the week, she just “didn’t have the legs today”. Blaza Klemencic did better with the 16th place, but the Slovenian, who is ranked under top 10 in the UCI world ranking for the first time this week, could not further great successes after her 5th place at last weeks European champs. Also Sabrina Enaux could not exhaust her full potential. Rank 21 for the French rider in the team.
