Litscher sichert Rang 9 in höllischer letzter Runde, Markt überholt 79 Fahrer

Litscher claims 9th place in a hellish and never ending last lap, Markt overtook 79 riders

 

Thomas Litscher hat im letzten Weltcup Rennen der Saison mit Rang 9 Selbstvertrauen getankt und ist zum vierten Mal in die Top 10 gefahren. In einer höllischen und nie enden wollenden letzten Runde sichert er sich den Platz in den Top 10 und hielt Weltmeister Hermida in Schach. Ein grandioser Abschluss einer grandiosen Saison des jungen Schweizers! In zwei Wochen greift er nach dem Regenbogen!

Entscheidung in der letzten Runde
Nach technischen Problemen bei der EM und im letzten Weltcup Rennen gelang Litscher diesmal ein sauberes Rennen. Und wenn alles läuft, geht es für den jungen Schweizer meist weit nach Vorne. Zwei Wochen vor der WM in Champéry hat Litscher alle Selbstzweifel weggefahren und geht voller Selbstvertrauen in das wichtigste Rennen der Saison! „Es war ein hartes Rennen, aber genau das habe ich jetzt gebraucht. Die letzte Runde war die Hölle. Der Endspurt ging schon Kilometer vor dem Ziel los. Ein toller Abschluss der Saison, die für mich einfach fantastisch gelaufen ist. Drei mal in den Top 10 der Elite! Das hätte ich in meiner ersten Profisaison nicht zu träumen gewagt. Jetzt gilt die ganze Konzentration der WM. Ich will Teamweltmeister werden und mir den Titel in der U23 holen.“

Litscher ging von Beginn an das Tempo der Spitze mit und setze sich in einer großen Verfolgergruppe fest. Erst auf der letzten Runde zerfiel die Gruppe. In höllischem Tempo wurden die Plätze ausgefahren. Alle am Ende ihrer Kräfte, doch noch einmal alles geben. Litscher, im Ziel völlig ausgepowert, hielt Weltmeister Hermida in Schach und sicherte sich Rang 9!

Markt überholt 79 Fahrer
Eine harte Aufgabe hatte Charly Markt zu bewältigen. In der Startloop spülte es ihn im großen Feld bis auf Rang 117 zurück. Eine ungewohnte Umgebung für den Österreichischen Landesmeister, der sonst ein sicherer Kandidat für die Top20 ist. Doch er wäre nicht Charly Markt, wenn er nicht das größte Kämpferherz hätte: In Runde 1 überholte er gut 30 Fahrer, in Runde zwei fuhr er an 20 weiteren vorbei, in Runde 3 schnappte er sich noch 10 und in Runde 4 wieder 12.  in Runde fünf überholte er 9 Fahrer und kurz vor dem Ziel noch einmal 2. Am Ende bedeutet das Platz 39 und insgesamt 79 überholte Fahrer. Sonderapplaus für den FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC Fahrer!

Morath in Italien beste Deutsche
In Abwesenheit von Sabine Spitz lag es an Adelheid Morath, die deutschen Flaggen hoch zu halten. Zwar kam sie als beste Deutsche ins Ziel, musste der harten WM Vorbereitung jedoch Tribut zollen. Am Ende Range 28.

Blaza Klemencic und Sabrina Enaux konnten im letzten Weltcup Rennen nicht mehr zu legen. Klemencic mit Rang 18 und Enaux mit Rang 22 lieferten in solides Rennen. Die beiden stecken mitten in der Vorbereitung für die WM. In zwei Wochen soll dann das beste Saisonergebnis eingefahren werden!

Decision in the last lap
After technical problems last week and at the European Champs the week before, Litscher had a clean race this time and that always means everybody has to keep an eye on the young gun. Two weeks before the World Champs, Litscher overcame all uncertainness! “It was such a hard race, but that’s was what I needed. The last lap was hell of a ride. The final spurt started kilometers before the finish line. What a finish and what a season! I never even dreamed of riding into the top 10 four times in my first season as a pro. Now I focus on the world champs. I want the team relay title and of course the U23 rainbow shirt!”


From the beginning, Litscher had found the right speed. In a group of 8 to 10 riders, Litscher was in the hunt of the leaders and got rid of lots of his rivals during the first half of the race, but the decision was not made until the last lap. The final spurt started kilometers before the finish line. Totally exhausted, Litscher gave everything he had when the speed nearly exploded and everybody tried to escape his rivals. Litscher kept World Champion Hermida in check and secured the 9th place!

Markt overtook 79 riders during the race
Charly Markt had to face a hard challenge. The Austrian champions had a big problem in the start loop and fell back into 117th position. An unusual spot for the FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC rider who normally is a hot candidate for the Top 20! But he is known as one of the biggest fighters in the field and he took the challenge by heart. In the first lap, he overtook 30 riders, in the second 20 more and in the third lap he passes 10 more riders. He overtook 12 more riders in the 4th lap and 9 more in the fifth and 2 more shortly before the finish line. That put him in 38 position in the end – a race where he overtook 79 riders!  Special applause for the FELT ÖTZTAL X-BIONIC rider!

Morath best German rider in Italy
With Sabine Spitz out of the race due to her preparation for the world champs, it was Adelheid Morath who lead the German riders ranking, finishing 28th overall.

Blaza Klemencic and Sabrina Enaux could not get back to the best results of the season in the final race. Klemencic in 18th position and Enaux in 22nd had a solid race. Both are in the middle of their preparation for the World Champs. In two weeks, they want to race the best results of the season.
