UCI Mountain Bike World Cup 2011: Offenburg set for 2011
The best Mountain Bike World Cup 2008 and 2009 will once again take place in 2011. The world cycling federation has announced the venues and dates for next year, with Offenburg hosting its fifth consecutive World Cup on the 28.-29. May 2011.
Just over four weeks ago the marketing agency Scheiderbauer Sports put on a terrific mountain bike World Cup event with a record number of spectators. Over 20.000 spectators made their way to Offenburg to cheer on the best mountain bikers in the world. “After three successful years, we have managed this year to attract more spectators to the track and into the World Cup stadium. I am very proud of this event”, commented Event Organiser Jörg Scheiderbauer.
In 2011 the focus is already directed to the Olympic Games in London in 2012. As in 2008 the Offenburg World Cup in 2012 could once again be qualifying races for the Olympic Games.
The plans for the World Cup in 2011 are already in motion. Due to the record number of spectators the parking situation needs to be reviewed. "We are playing with the idea of a shuttle service to improve the parking situation for Teams, Athletes, Sponsors, Media and the public”, commented Scheiderbauer.
