Fantastic victory of Canadian Catherine Pendrel at the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup Offenburg
Once again the best female mountain bikers in the world have come to Offenburg in order to participate at the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup. And in the early morning already thousands of spectators found their way to the huge world cup stadium. Especially along the course in the forest of Rammersweier the supporters cheered for the athletes.
Two athletes of LUNA PRO TEAM stood on the podium in the end. At the beginning of the race Catherine Pendrel (CAN) and Georgia Gould (USA) battled fort he leading position. In round three Pendrel was able to break away with 10 seconds. Gould lost second by second so that Pendrel in the end managed to win the race with a fantastic time of 1:37:24 hours. Finally she got an advance of 26 seconds. Swiss rider Esther Süss (1:38:02) showed her strength on the 5,1 km long course and finished as third. Blaza Klemencic of FELT OETZTAL X-BIONIC Worldcup Team managed to finish on eleventh rank after she started from grid 32 at her home game.
