The 2009 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Offenburg smashes all media records!
From Abu Dhabi to Zimbabwe the 2009 NISSAN UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Offenburg was broadcasted on TV. Altogether channels from 205 different nations were showing footage from the world cup in Offenburg, which has already been very successful in 2008, winning the UCI award as best mountain bike world cup in 2008.
The worldwide accumulated viewing rate and the total broadcasting time were increased again to the preceding year. More than 10 million viewers watched the reporting with its total broadcasting time in 2009 of more than 600 hours (601:30:07 h).
Numerous well-known channels such as ESPN, FOX, SKY, Canal +, BBC and Eurosport belong as well to the broadcast stations as ZDF, SWR and SF1 from the German-speaking area. Mainly TV stations from the Iberian Peninsula stick out in total broadcasting time. With almost 25 hours Spain broadcasted considerably more than France (8,75 h), Belgium (6,5 h), South Africa (6 h) and Luxembourg (4 h). German Viewers were able to watch almost 1,5 hours mountain bike world cup on television.
Jörg Scheiderbauer, owner of Scheiderbauer Sports GmbH, is very happy about the latest figures: „Both the viewing rate and the total broadcasting time as well as the amount of channels increased compared to the preceding years.
