Unbeatable! Offenburg again voted the best Mountain Bike World Cup

The World Cycling Federation UCI announced for the second year running Offenburg as the Best World Cup Event in 2009. As in the previous year the deciding factors contributing to defending the title include the top organization from Scheiderbauer Sports, the spectacular course and the large enthusiastic crowds. Sponsors, Teams and the media unanimously voted Offenburg as the best cross country event. In winning the award Offenburg has proved that it is the leader in cross country mountain bike events. The other candidates include Pietermaritzburg (RSA), Houffalize (BEL), Madrid (ESP), Mont Saint Anne (CAN), Bromont (CAN), Champery (SUI) und Schladming (AUT).

The mountain bike Event in Offenburg has established itself on the world cup calendar and will take place for the fourth year running on the 22.-23. May 2010. The success story rolls on. New premium partner Ötztal (tourist destination in Austria), will give Offenburg a new dimension. The structure and the process will be more professional. In view of the planned bid for the World Championships in 2015, completely new paths will be implemented to make the World Cup Offenburg a unique international sporting event.
Jörg Scheiderbauer, managing director of the company Scheiderbauer Sports GmbH, is confident that in the next few years it will be even harder to defend the title Offenburg.
“We were extremely pleased with the news. It is again a confirmation of our work. To win a title is great, but to defend this is an entirely different number. We will do everything we can in the coming year to land the hat-trick.
