One day

Our big day is only one sleep away. One day, this one day that we have been thinking about for a long time now. Our training over the last 5 months has been focused on this one day. It´s our day to bring all the hard training together for the best possible race that we can deliver. This week we have had a lot of time to think about this one day, of course you need to plan your day. It will start early with the alarm set for 4 am, small breakfast, bus to start, check bike, short swim and line up for the big race.

Our bikes are now in the transition area along with a bike bag with helmet, race number, sunnies and nutrition and a run bag with shoes, socks (X-socks of course), cap and nutrition. It was an interesting trip with a small bus full of bike and athletes (see photo).

Short run and swim today just too keep moving. The body certainly knows that it has a long hard day ahead of it. I have gone over the race many times in my head from waking up to warming up to the swim start, swim exit, transition to bike, bike (the exact average speed), nutrition on the bike, transition to run, run (exact pace) and the run tactics depending on the combined swim/ride time. A lot to plan and think about for this one day.

Lets hope it´s our day.
